Dr. McColl, Msc, phd

Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, Co-Founder

Dr. McColl holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from McGill University (accredited by both CPA, APA, and is one of 14 programs (the only in Canada) with the PCSAS accreditation). She also has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from Queen’s University (First Class Honours) and a Master’s of Science in Psychology from Dalhousie University.

Dr. McColl completed her clinical internship in neuropsychology at the Montreal Neurological Institute and has training in child clinical psychology and neuropsychology from the Montreal Children’s Hospital (Neurotrauma Clinic, Psychology Department, Developmental Progress Clinic, Behavioural Pediatrics Group).

She also has doctoral training with adolescents and adults at the Jewish General Hospital (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Clinic, Herzl Family Practice Centre, and the Behavioural Medicine Chronic Pain Clinic) and has outpatient experience from the Douglas Institute, Outpatient Psychiatry.

Dr. McColl’s research experience includes migraine headaches, visual disorders, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cognitive effects of concussions, cognitive and abuse liability testing in clinical trials, and women’s health. She has presented at National and International conferences in Canada, the USA, and Europe. She has also previously been a scientific consultant to pharmaceutical companies and worked with key-opinion and science leaders across Canada, US and Europe. She has experience working in the non-profit sector with children and schools in Indigenous communities. Dr. McColl has taught psychology and research methods courses and given lectures at McGill University, Dalhousie University, University of Toronto, and is a tenured professor at Vanier College.

Her expertise is in the neuropsychological evaluation of ADHD, learning disorders, mild traumatic brain injury (concussion), epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorders, memory loss and cognitive changes in aging and peri-menopause. She also provides empirically-supported treatments for anxiety, ADHD/ADD, and coping with medical conditions and life stressors.


Dr. Ste-marie, phd

Child Psychologist/Pédopsychologue, Co-Founder

Dr. Ste-Marie received her master’s and doctorate degrees from McGill University in Educational Psychology with a Major in School/Applied Child Psychology and a Minor in Applied Developmental Psychology.  She completed her doctoral internship at the Child Psychiatry Day Hospital Program of the Jewish General Hospital.

Dr. Ste-Marie has provided psychological services to children, adolescents, and families in a variety of clinical settings, including non-profit organizations, public and private schools, hospitals, and private practices. She has worked with children ranging from 6 months of age to high school age, presenting with a variety of developmental, learning, emotional, and behavioural problems.

She specializes in assessments of children and adolescents, individual therapy for a variety of child-related issues (12 years and under), and parental coaching.

Dr. Ste-Marie has conducted research on the impact of anxiety, social stress, parental styles, on adolescent behaviour. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals.


Dr. Zygmuntowicz, phd

Pediatric Psychologist

Dr. Zygmuntowicz is a pediatric psychologist specializing in the psychological and physical well-being of infants, children, and adolescents and their families. For over 15 years, she has had the privilege of working with families to find solutions that are individually tailored to their priorities while keeping the best interests of the child at the forefront of her work.

Dr. Zygmuntowicz’s expertise is in pediatric psychology (concerns related to medical and developmental issues), behavioural, and developmental assessment and therapy gleaned initially from doctoral-level training in school and applied child psychology from McGill University. Her training has included APA approved internship in the United States, international, local, and remote research, as well as internships in various local hospitals and schools. She continues to engage in regular education and teaching to stay abreast of current research and therapeutic techniques and share her knowledge.

Dr. Zygmuntowicz continues to work as a member of the team of psychologists at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where she has enjoyed more than 10 years specializing in child development and pediatric feeding disorders.

A sample of some of the work that Dr. Zygmuntowicz is typically involved with includes; adolescents with elevated stress, parent coaching (for behavioural concerns, parent role development/coping), feeding disorders of youth, helping individuals cope with anxiety/depression, managing tics, assessing and coping with ADHD, managing stress and difficult transitions including divorce, self-esteem, coping with medical issues, and assessment/intervention for difficult behaviour/symptoms (school/academic functioning, autism spectrum disorder, tantrums, anger/rage, impulsiveness, worry, sadness).


Jacqueline miller, m.Ed.

Jacqueline Miller received her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at McGill University and was trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) under the supervision of the pioneer of CBT in Montreal, Dr. Michael Spevack (affiliated with the McGill University Health Centre). She has been a tenured faculty member of the Psychology Department at Vanier College for over 20 years and has been a regular guest on Dr. Laurie Betito’s CJAD 800 iHeart Talk Radio show, “Passion with Doctor Laurie”.  

She has over 20 years of experience helping adolescents and adults address issues of anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and phobias. She also specializes in the treatment of depression, PTSD, and performance anxiety. More recently, she has developed a keen interest in working with the elderly to address their unique emotional and psychological concerns.

Ms. Miller’s training and treatment methods are both evidence-based and culturally sensitive. She brings a deep awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of vulnerable populations. Her therapeutic approach combines empathy with solution-focused strategies to promote meaningful change in her clients’ lives.

Ms. Miller has a wealth of experience developing and facilitating group workshops in the areas of stress management, performance anxiety, career development, and cultural diversity and wellness practices in the workplace.


CAroline Brisson, m.Ed.

Psychologist

Carolyn Brisson is a highly experienced psychologist who has worked in the field of educational psychology for 30 years. Throughout this time, she has conducted psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents in both school board and private practice settings.

Ms. Brisson has also acted as a clinical supervisor to McGill Ph.D students in conducting, scoring, interpreting test results, and report writing.

For the past 10 years, she has worked as a Coordinator and Director of Student Services at the Kahnawake Education Center. She is dedicated, hard-working, and efficient.
